This is how a movement starts

If you haven’t seen it yet, Derick Sivers has a great 3-minute video on how to start a movement. He talks about the importance of the very first followers. The first followers are actually the leaders of a movement. They are the ones willing to take a risk on something new.

The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader. If the leader is the flint, the first follower is the spark that makes the fire …Here come two more people, and immediately after, three more people. Now we’ve got momentum …Now we’ve got a movement!

Then, start sharing your daily workout, healthy meals, or fitness activity with both the #365Warrior hashtag and the activity hashtag of your choice. Let’s help one another stay motivated. Share our motto – “Be Better Than Yesterday” – and post words of encouragement on fellow #365Warrior posts.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I get great satisfaction in helping people get back to the activities they enjoy. You can help start a movement that will help you and others get fit and keep moving. After all, movement is what makes us feel alive.
